Lactation Disorders

Desiilaaz with kala zeera (Black Cumin) and saunf (Aniseed)


The production of milk and ejection of milk in nursing mother is regulated by prolactin hormone. Mastitis is inflammation of breast due to poor flow of milk from the breast. It can be relieved by feeding the baby frequently, which will release the prolactin hormone. Along with medications plenty of fluids, rest and proper diet is recommended.
1st
To 1 tspf of crushed vilayati saunf (Aniseed) seeds add 1 cup of boiling water and let it stand for 3-5 min. Filter and take 1 cup twice a day taking 1 tspf at a time.
2nd
Grind 1.5-3 g of crushed kala zeera (Black Cumin) seeds in ¼ cup of water in a mortar. Filter and take ¼ cup a day with honey.
3rd
Boil 6 g of crushed tubers of nagarmotha (Nut Grass) in 4 cups of water in a covered container for 15 min. Filter and take 1 cup 4 times a day.
4th
Crush ¼-1 tspf vilayati saunf (Aniseed), ½ -1 tspf of siya zeera (Caraway) and ¼- ½ tspf of saunf (Fennel) seeds in a mortar. Boil with 1 cup of water, remove from heat and let it stand covered for 10 min. Filter and take 1 cup a day.
5th

Boil ¾ tspf crushed vilayati saunf (Aniseeds) and 1 ¼ tspf crushed methi (Fenugreek) in 1 cup of water, remove from heat and let it stand for 10 min in a covered container. Filter and take 1 cup thrice a day.
