Indigestion (Gastritis, Gastroenteritis)

Desillaaz with bahera (Beleric Myrobalan) and saunf (Aniseed)


Discomfort after meals is indigestion. Its symptoms are nausea, vomiting, belching, foul breath, heartburn, acidity, diarrhea and hiccups. Smoking delays digestion, anxiety, nervous tension, overeating, allergy to eggs, milk and fish, contaminated food and alcohol. Gastroenteritis (food poisoning) is infection of gut resulting in vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal, cramps, fever and sweating.
1st
To 1 tspf of crushed vilayati saunf (Aniseed) seeds add 1 cup of boiling water for 3-5 min. Filter and take cooled 1 tbspf at a time a total of 1-2 cups a day.
2nd
Boil 1-3 g of bahera (Beleric Myrobalan) pulp in 2 cups of water for 15 min. Filter and take 1 cup twice a day.
3rd
Mix 3-12 g of harad/halaila (Chebulic Myrobalan) in 1 cup of water. Do not heat or boil. Take 1 cup twice a day.
4th
Boil 1 tspf of crushed safed zeera (Cumin) in 2 cups of water in a covered container for 15 min. Filter and take 1-2 cups a day.
5th
To 30 g of shredded adrak (Ginger) rhizomes add 2 cups of boiling water in a covered container for 5-20 min as per the strength needed. Filter and take 1 cup twice a day.
6th
Boil 1 tspf of crushed pahadi pudina (Spearmint) leaves in 2 cups of water in a covered container for 15 min. Filter and take 1 cup twice a day warm.
7th

Boil 11 g powdered choti elaichi (Cardamom), 60 g of powdered dhania (Coriander) seeds in 3 cups of water in a covered container till the volume is reduced to ½ cup (35 min). Filter and take 3-4 tbspf (adult), ¾ -3 tspf (children) thrice a day.
